And sure enough, the DJ came on and announced the song by Megashark (Christian’s artist name) and then his song, “Onion Strings” played.  It sounded great!  The amazing thing is that producing music is a whole new thing for him. Just a few months ago he decided he wanted to be a DJ and produce his own music too, and he jumped in with both feet. He even has his music on a CD Baby account so people can buy songs.  I tweeted it more than once, of course, and I pumped it on facebook because I was so excited for him.

I was far more excited than he was.  I can’t help it.  I’m his mom and I love him and am proud of him.

He’s a funny guy with a whacky sense of humor who goes to college, lives a clean life, helps me constantly, has a wonderful girlfriend that I adore, and today I just feel like giving kudos to my wonderful son Megashark.

The model in pink hair is Jessica. She does her own styling, and she’s is wildly creative. On this photo, all I did was the editing.

Lacheln. She’s such a great stylist on her own – she does her own hair, make-up, everything.  But on this one I did the fashion styling. Lacheln did her own post.

This is Iana Little. I can’t take credit for any part of this photo – other than being the human fan so her hair would blow.

Her skin is so flawless,  Tolga jokes that Iana comes pre-edited, hehe.

To quote songwriter Diane Warren when I shared this video with her, “Wow. They r so much better than us. This made me cry too.” So my friends and loved ones, if you love animals, be prepared with tissues because this video might move you to tears like it did us.

My friend Mike Avecedo is the one who posted this video on facebook where I first saw it. When I commented on the video confessing that I cried, Mike’s comment was “Awwww, I was sad too. Life is very precious.”

Life is very precious indeed.

Sometimes it take an animal to remind us of that.

And he’s still hot. And the music video to Rihanna’s song “Cheers” that he co-wrote already has over 61 million views. See for yourself.

He was introduced to Tolga and I by the never-ending Nicholas O’Toole, from Open Labs fame, who continues to amaze us with his world-class network of friends.

Anyway, here’s part of Scott’s bio.

Scott Spock used to look like this

“We all do everything: creating melodies, lyrics, and tracks. We have three, different ProTools rigs. When we write, we like to sit down with a guitar and piano, rather than starting with a track. Graham plays guitar and bass, Lauren plays piano, and I play piano and trumpet. Also we all sing, often on both our demos and the masters,” Scott said.

The Matrix say that while they have only written or only produced for artists, they prefer to be more of a one-stop shop.  Here’s a shortlist of their discography. Keep in mind they’ve written/produced over 1,200 songs, so it’s literally only the highlights. View The Matrix Discography here.

So what’s he like?

“He’s crazy mad juice!” as Tolga would say in Tolga Language. (In English that means, “He’s a world legend, I’m ecstatic that I got to meet him.”) After spending a little time with him, Tolga and I learned that Scott Spock is forward-thinking, tech-savvy and driven. He has a fascinating private life outside of The Matrix.

When we talked he was thoughtful and well-mannered, and boy was he on top of his game.  But there was no game.

He’s the opposite of an attention-seeker. He would stay quiet, listening intently, never anxious to butt in and stop someone else’s idea roll.  But when he spoke, we listened. And what he said was important. He had something intelligent and insightful to add to every concept or conversation. It was like he had this deep well of wisdom – almost Yoda levels – that gave him a perspective on things no one else had.

Life hasn’t been a bed of roses for Scott Spock.  Even so, his success with The Matrix has made history. He’s learned a lot.

He has an explosive creative energy simmering beneath the surface and its both infectious and exciting. To listen to Scott Spock and Tolga Katas brainstorming in the same room was, well, like looking through the Hub telescope and witnessing the birth of Polaris.

And just to be clear, Scott Spock is a yoda master at much more than making hit records and pop stars.  He’s known for being cutting-edge, breaking new ground, not just in sounds, but in other ways too.  It should be no surprise that he’s expanding his universe to embark on an adventurous new path.

It’s in stealth mode at the moment, sort of like dark matter.

But it’s killer.

 And don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Wikipedia says this, “In 1997, he developed Ultimate Craps,^[3] the world’s first online craps software; in 2000 he invented iMixalot^[4] - one of the first media players that could easily convert sound designer files.”

Yes, he did that long ago and I’m proud of him.

He’s the coolest guy that ever walked the earth. But why do they call it Craps anyway?  Couldn’t they have thought of a better name?

A Very Sweet Model

She wanted to make gloves out of pink frosting.

I didn’t have any red food coloring on hand for the frosting so I used rose syrup I bought from the Indian store. It was actually delicious -it  literally tasted like sweet roses. Luxbot was hoping to put sprinkles on her frosting gloves but I was out of those too. Hence – the candy sweethearts.

She found a pink napkin at my house, and then she hot-gunned candy dots (which I also had) onto the napkin, shaped it into a bow, and that’s what’s in her hair.  She is truly an artist.

She’s a sweetheart too. Once she started tasting the yummy frosting on her fingers, it went downhill from there. These photos are a sneak peak, but the best ones are in Tolga’s computer. This was definitely one of the messiest photo shoots we’ve done, but it was a riot.

By the way, today is her birthday!
