I got this in my email this morning from my subscription to IAB SmartBrief.
To make sure your online video campaign will have a lasting effect, Ebuzzing recommends “capturing viewers early by creating ads with a strong start, keeping them interested by playing on their emotions and pushing the envelope a bit to make sure people are still talking about your ad after it’s over.”
I can’t plagiarize their entire article, dang, but I will tell you what the 7 tips are and you can go read the whole article yourself.
1. Keep branding discreet
2. Story matters most
3. Kick off with a bang
4. Build an emotional roller coaster
5. Have multiple scenes
6. Surprise but don’t shock
7. Target people that are prone to sharing and have a voice
In this one a boy puts on a Darth Vader costume and tries to make things move, even his dog. The brand is subtle, not annoying.
In this one, “The Dog Strikes Back,” there’s a storyline that changes. The result of that for me is that it made me want to go back and review the other commercials to see how they fit together.
In the Roller Babies commercial, it’s just so adorable I couldn’t help myself from sharing it.
Imagine doing a commercial so delightful that people can’t wait to share it. Worldwide.
That’s the advertisers dream.
If anybody wants to give it a shot, we do too. We have a studio you can use, so let’s go for it. Contact me.
